Service to Local Community

We serve and support our local community in many different ways each year:

  • Collect food and donate it to the food pantry at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Trenton – Please bring donations to the food baskets in our narthex.
  • Collect clothing and household items and donate them to the Rescue Mission of Trenton – ongoing collection under the coat rack by the church office.
  • Deliver food to families in the Trenton area with The Crisis Ministry of Trenton – once a month on a Saturday morning.
  • Monetary donations to local charities.

The Social Ministry committee would like to thank all the members, family and friends of APLC for their overwhelming generosity and care in all of our outreach ministries.  Thank you!

HURRICANE SANDY RESPONSE - This year following the October 2012 Hurricane Disaster a Response Team Committee was formed in order to assist in recovery efforts.  Currently APLC is involved with preparing and serving meals on Tuesday evenings as needed at Reformation, West Long Branch, NJ who house workers volunteering to restore the area.  Anyone interested in being a part of this ministry can contact Beth Peroni through the church office.

Thanksgiving Canned Goods (Annual)

Each Thanksgiving canned goods and dry goods are offered during the Thanksgiving Eve Service and given to Redeemer Lutheran Church's food pantry.

Christmas Sharing in the Neighborhood (Annual)

For the last 2 years APLC has been involved in providing Christmas gifts to those in need.  Names are received from local schools and anyone interested can take an envelope and purchase the gift requested.  Many thanks to all who have been a part of this.

Campbell Products: Bar-Code Collection   (Ongoing)

We are still collecting the combination bar code/picture of the Campbell kid from Campbell products (Soup, Gravy, Pasta sauce, etc.) to send to the Library for the Blind and Handicapped. Please clip the bar code and picture of the Campbell kid. Put the clipping in the envelope on the narthex bulletin board mounted near the coat rack. If you prefer you can give the complete label to Nancy Ervin and she will ensure that the code/picture is clipped for you .

Thank you to all in your support of these ministries.
